Significance of the Project


The MHHSR is the fifth corridor in a series of six high-speed rail corridors outlined in India’s 2019 Semi-High Speed Rail (SSR) blueprint. Administrative groundwork for the project began in October 2020, and since then, progress has been consistent. The project is being spearheaded by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRC), the nodal agency responsible for planning and implementation.


By connecting Mumbai and Hyderabad, this corridor is expected to:

Reduce the travel time between the two cities to under 4 hours.

Operational Speed: 320 km/h

Average Journey Speed: 250 km/h

Gauge: Standard Gauge (1435 mm)

Electrification: 25 kV AC overhead system

Signaling: OS-ATC (Automatic Train Control) digital signaling system


The Mumbai-Hyderabad corridor is designed with cutting-edge technology and high-speed

Each train is expected to carry around 759 passengers, providing both comfort and capacity to meet the growing demand for fast intercity travel.


Advanced Safety and Infrastructure Features


The project incorporates global best practices in rail safety and design, ensuring passenger safety and system reliability:


Urgent Earthquake Detection and Alarm System (UrEDAS) for real-time monitoring.

Track designs accommodate elevated, underground, and at-grade alignments, adapting to diverse terrains and minimizing environmental disruption.

Comprehensive integration of station infrastructure, ticketing systems, and urban connectivity to ensure seamless travel experience.

Zaheerabad: A Strategic Beneficiary

As part of Telangana’s National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ), Zaheerabad is witnessing a rapid industrial transformation. With investments from companies like Hyundai’s ₹82,500 crore Innovation Centre & R&D, Hatsun’s ₹8,600 crore dairy turnover and 600 crore investment, NIMZ: Over 12,000 acres and 5 lakh future jobs. VEM Technologies' defence production hub ₹1,000 crore investment, 930-acre Food Processing SEZ, Real Estate Appreciation, 2361 crore invested in industrial corridor infrastructure, Government of India Smart City + Industrial Corridor backing.

Zaheerabad is the industrial gateway where India’s next growth frontier begins., the area is fast becoming an industrial powerhouse.
